I vote for "source" as the place where the @conref attribute is, and target as being where the attribute is pointing to. We talk about the "target" of a <xref> or <topicref> as being what is pointed at. But regardless of what we choose, we should either try to avoid these terms or disambiguate them in each context, otherwise we will miscommunicate to 50% of people, by the looks of it. Su-Laine
