Thanks Bob the template works fine.

  <xsl:template match="book[1]">
    <xsl:variable name="content"
                  select="*[not(self::title or self::subtitle or
                                self::titleabbrev or self::bookinfo)]"/>
    <xsl:apply-templates select="$content"/>
  </xsl:template>


In the set TOC if would be nice not to have the entry of the title from
the first book.
Is it possible to extend the template to do that also.
