David, We should replace the line because the namespace identifier and location differ, helping parsers that only understand xsi:schemaLocation and de-referencing the namespace URI itself. Another reason: Our reference to the xml:lang attribute in the schema won't be valid unless every XML schema parser can find its definition. As Arvola has said, xsi:schemaLocation is a hint to parsers. In this case, it helps many parsers and never does harm. thanx, doug
