Dear OASIS Member Section Representatives for MS Policy, At the last Board meeting on 1-2 August, the OASIS Board approved the last set of updates to the MS Policy and decided to close the Board MS Policy Committee and move oversight of the MS Policy to the re-named Board Policy Committee. Your support and inputs during the MS Policy updating process this year have been greatly appreciated. http://www.oasis-open.org/who/ms_policy.php As the Process Committee (and thus their email list) is mostly focused on TC Process issues, I did not automatically add you to the Board Process Committee. However, if you wish to be added to the Board Process Committee email list, please send an email to the Board Process Committee Chair, Jeff Mischkinsky. The Board Process Committee will, as noted below, occasionally take up issues related to the MS Policy. Please note in the minutes below of the Process Committee's call of 21 August, that a topic has been carried over from the old MS Policy Committee for further discussion on today's Board Process Committee call. Questions raised around this issue relate to Roberts Rules which allow a committee to create subcommittees, and whether the MS-Policy should provide any guidelines as to the make-up of a MS Steering Committee subcommittee or its activities: - Is a subcommittee restricted to the MS Steering Committee members themselves, or are any OASIS Eligible Persons, who are not on the Steering Committee, permitted to join a Steering Committee subcommittee? - Should there be any rules or guidelines on what activities a MS Steering Committee subcommittee may engage in and what types of deliverables they may or may not produce?
