Thanks to David L, Elysa, Dee, and Scott McGrath for calling in today to discuss the Member Section's goals and help articulate a value proposition for joining the MS. We drafted the following five major areas of activity for the MS. Please review and send your comments back to this list ASAP. We need to finalize these in order to incorporate them into the press release and web site. 1. Identify and discuss interoperability issues; work with the TC to ensure these issues are addressed. Target issues related to: -telematics (crash data) -computer-aided dispatch -consequence management -situational awareness models 2. Identify areas where new standards are needed in order to enable complete solutions. Encourage formation of new TCs or Subcommittees to advance this work. 3. Encourage national and local government agencies to support and advocate the use of emergency standards as a means to enable innovation, freedom of choice, and open access to information. 4. Address global interoperability issues for emergency standards. 5. Drive demand for standards-compliant products/services through education; identify markets that use the data generated by emergency standards. We also discussed prospects for the MS. I will draft an invitation to join and David has agreed to send it out to EIC members.
