Arshad, I believe it would be good to set up a discussion with Russ on his issues. After my presentation, which included an overview of the EKMI TC, Russ basically raised a concern that IETF was exploring development of a key management standard, although not as broadly scoped as he understood the EKMI effort. He said it would be unfortunate if two standards organizations went down parallel paths essentially covering the same ground, and asked what I thought. I said that we should have a discussion to understand what each group is doing to see if there is synergy and whether some form of collaboration would be useful. Dee, Ann, or June may have more details from his question, but he raised it as a general issue of concern and I think the ball is in our court to open a dialogue with him and the appropriate committee chair in IETF.
