Notes from KMIP interop call, January 13

All, Here are my summary notes from today's interop call. Please let me know of any additions/corrections you might have. If you wish to be added to the interop mailing list ([email protected]) used for most of the interop-related technical and logistical issues, please send an email to Dee ([email protected]). Best Regards, Mathias KMIP interop 2011-01-13 Attending: Tim Hudson (Cryptsoft), John Clark, Steve Weirenga (HP), Mathias Bjoerkqvist, Bruce Rich (IBM), Denis Pochuev, Alan Frindell (SafeNet), Adnan Visic (High Density Devices), Bob Griffin (EMC/RSA), Larry Hofer (Emulex), Dee Schur, Jane Harnad (OASIS), Subhash Sankuratripati (NetApp) Jane only got a few responses on suggestions for booth layout and opinions were divided. Concern regarding booth size last week, currently we have a 10x20 space with 7 participants compared to last year's 20x20 with 13 participants. No more 20x20 spaces left, alternative would be 20x30 for $45k (3x price). No-one voiced a desire to go for larger booth size on the call. Planned signs similar to last year with companies' logos and info on the interop being done. Flyers to give out at each company's own booth directing them to the OASIS booth. Slide deck sent out by Bob based on the slides used last year with a few slides with current status added. Any comments welcome, as well as any other suggestions for how to best present the interop demo. So far the general concensus has been to demo use cases from the original use case document as well as the proposed asymmetric key use cases (everyone can demo what they have implemented, no greatest-commonn-divisor). This approach ok for IBM, Cryptsoft, SafeNet, HP. Emulex and High Density Devices using products/product-oriented clients with which they are confident talking to the IBM TKLM product. Possibly also open to talk to other vendors' servers, they will contact the respective vendors to get connection details. For trouble shooting, traces of successful connections to IBM product would be useful. Suggestion to separate use cases into v1.0 (the original UC document) and the newer, asym. key use cases which test the Asymmetric Key Profiles which are not part of KMIP v1.0. Discussion on whether to add another call or extend current call. Anyone interested in having an additional call at the same time on Tuesday January 18th, please send a note to me or the list. I will send out a note on Monday to inform if we will have another call or not.
