This is a second request for quarterly reports from the technical committees. I sense that our failure to have met a previous deadline for a second quarter report may be a symptom of a general complacency or malaise that has come over the member section. I feel that things are starting to fall by the wayside. Quorums are not met and so meetings stall; meetings are scheduled but arrangements with conference centers are not made. Reports are due but deadlines slip. As your chair I think it is part of my responsibility to point these developments out without assigning blame. It is an opportunity for all of us to re-examine our commitments, look at what needs to be done, and do it. Let's remove the rust by sharpening our blades, and have the knives cut as though hot through butter. Please submit your combined second and third quarterly reports to me without delay. Thank you.
