Hi everyone, I have a done a bit more thinking and decided to pull all my previous proposals (for relational remodelling etc.) together into one coherent document. So, please find attached a document in which I am summarizing everything that, in my opinion, should be in the spec which we are trying to produce. Most of what you will see in the document is based on consensus from our meetings and should not be controversial. The only new thing I am proposing there is a new object type called Segment which is an abstraction over entries, senses, subsenses, subentries and other such things. My reasoning for why I think we need this abstraction is explained in the document (especially in chapter 1.1) and I hope that you will find it convincing. I know it's a long read but I would very much appreciate it if you could all read it carefully and think it through.
