Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] Commented: (ODATA-277) Define ordering sequence per value of the collation attribute
[ http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/ODATA-277?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=32657#action_32657 ]
Ralf Handl commented on ODATA-277:
----------------------------------
Actually I wonder what the purpose of this attribute is. It says "treat this string property for ordering purposes as if it were of the following primitive type".
Why would I do that instead of just using that type for the property?
How would I sort values that cannot be interpreted as literal representations of the specified type? Where would I sort "Fred" with Collation="Boolean"?
