Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] (ODATA-784) Need to specify the behaviour of arithmetic operators on Decimal type
[ https://issues.oasis-open.org/browse/ODATA-784?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=59255#comment-59255 ]
Evan Ireland commented on ODATA-784:
------------------------------------
If Scale(A) = 0 and Scale(B) = 0, then both operands are essentially integers.
This issue is important because a reasonable expectation in that case for (A div B) would be to expect integer division semantics (truncation, with the result having no fractional component).
The proposed rule scaleof(A div B) = scaleof(A) + scaleof(B) would provide for integer division of integers.
