Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] (ODATA-804) If we allow Edm.Decimal to be used with IEEE decimal floating point, will we then support Nzn and +/- Infinity?
Evan Ireland created ODATA-804:
----------------------------------
Summary: If we allow Edm.Decimal to be used with IEEE decimal floating point, will we then support Nzn and +/- Infinity?
Key: ODATA-804
URL: https://issues.oasis-open.org/browse/ODATA-804
Project: OASIS Open Data Protocol (OData) TC
Issue Type: Improvement
Components: OData ATOM Format, OData JSON Format, OData URL Conventions
Affects Versions: V4.1_WD01
Reporter: Evan Ireland
Priority: Minor
In other issues, e.g. ODATA-789, we have discussed extending the definition of Edm.Decimal to accomodate exponential form, to permit its use with IEEE decimal floating point values. This raises the issue of what to do with regard to the representation of NaN and +/- Infinity for floating point Edm.Decimal values in:
* URL Conventions (ABNF)
* ATOM Format
* JSON Format
