Carol, The indication from the services was indeed that there * is * new money here – for the proposed executive Agency and for itsfuture mandate to render current or future pilots operational: ENISA was referred to on several occasions as a useful parallel rather than the (relatively) massive TEN-T EA, although preliminary indications point to the new agency also being Brussels-based and under the authority of DG-INFSO…. but there’s a long way to go before adoption… I’ll be watching closely in any case… Peter F Brown Independent Consultant www.peterfbrown.com P.O. The huge Trans-European Networks for the Rail and Energy sector have spawned powerful Agencies, especially the Trans-European Transport Network Executive Agency ( TEN -T EA) based in Brussels. There seem to be some tensions between the European Commission and these (almost) independent agencies when created. Of course, ENISA (based in Crete) is a similar Agency, but operating on a smaller scale.
