MINUTES OF PACIFIC UBL TC MEETING
TUESDAY 23 SEPTEMBER 2008
ATTENDANCE
Jon Bosak (chair)
G. Ken Holman
Tim McGrath (vice chair)
STANDING ITEMS
Additions to the calendar:
http://ubl.xml.org/events
None.
Liaison reports
TM: From UN/CEFACT Plenary: CC library 08B is looking good
and on track for November delivery.
Subcommittee report: PSC
TM: Expecting BII requirements in November; this would
result in consolidated UBL 2.1 requirements in Jan/Feb 2009
and 2.1 delivery in Aug/Sep 2009. This is a good fit with
our mapping to CC library 08B.
ACTION: TM to meet with AS and Martin Forsberg to begin work
on 08B mapping.
Review of Atlantic call minutes
GKH: Thanks to BH for taking on synthesis of the checklist
annex. Agree that we need to explain "XSD" instead of "W3C
Schema."
MINUTES OF THE UBL TC MEETING IN MONTRÉAL
ACTION: TM to provide the UN/CEFACT report slides.
INTERNATIONAL DATA DICTIONARY
JB: Still waiting on Denmark.
AGREED that if the Danish translation is not received by next
week, we will go ahead with public review of Japanese, Italian,
and Spanish.
UBL WORK SCHEDULE
ACTION (1/8): JB to revise the work schedule spreadsheet.
AGREED to assume BII input in November and shift everything
in the old schedule by six months.
CUSTOMIZATION GUIDELINES
JB: Have fallen behind with submission; will complete by end of
week.
UBL 2.1 ISSUES LIST
ACTION (12/18): TM to populate the new issues list with all
currently known UBL 2.1 issues.
In progress.
NAMING AND DESIGN RULES
ACTION (9/16): JB to draft a new rule stating that the schema
retains and expresses the sequence of business information
entities in the model plus a note observing that in UBL
modeling, the order for an ABIE is that all the ASBIEs follow
the BBIEs.
Pending review in this week's Atlantic meeting.
ACTION (9/16): JB to supply a missing angle bracket and change
"BuyerParty" to "SupplierParty" in Example 12.
Pending review in this week's Atlantic meeting.
2009 TC MEETING SCHEDULE
19-23 January 2009 in Fremantle
http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/ubl/200808/msg00010.html
Expected attendance: TM, MC, GKH; possibly AS, MG, AH
April/May 2009
East coast North America (probably in DC area or possibly in
Ottawa) has been suggested, but it's possible that we will
have an opportunity to meet with UN/CEFACT at their 20-24
April 2009 Forum in Rome.
ACTION: TM to inquire regarding colocation.
August 2009
We are agreed on a preliminary plan to meet the week before
or the week after the Balisage conference in Montréal; this
would be 3-7 August or 10-14 August 2009, depending on which
is chosen for Balisage. It's possible that we will wish to
hold a plenary in conjunction with the UN/CEFACT Forum in
Sapporo 28 September - 2 October, in which case the Montréal
meeting will be considered a working session.
TC CONCALL SCHEDULE
AGREED that TM will chair the Pacific call 20|21 October and
that the Pacific call 10|11 November won't present a problem
for most of the participants. So we will maintain our current
schedule (modulo the usual changes at end of Daylight Saving
Time) for the rest of the year with the exception of the
following:
Week of 11/24: No meetings
Week of 12/8: No meetings
Week of 12/22: No meetings
Week of 12/29: No meetings
Jon Bosak
