Hello UBL TC, As most of you are aware, the UBL 2.0 Naming and Design Rules completed their first OASIS public review 12 November 2006. Comments received during that review and dispositions of the same are available at http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/download.php/34151/ndr-prd1-comments.txt It should be understood that at this stage, the Naming and Design Rules for UBL 2.0 are historically descriptive of the process used to generate the schemas for UBL 2.0 in 2006, and as such are not amenable to substantive revision. They are of interest mainly to groups outside of UBL that have found them useful in guiding their own work, and the slow process of revision that ended in last month's TC meeting in Montreal has been chiefly concerned with improving the prose and the artwork as aids to understanding the document. In this week's TC calls, members approved the revised draft completed in the August TC meeting in Montreal as a candidate Public Review Draft Number 2. A package believed to be suitable for submission can be found at http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/download.php/34152/prd2-UBL-2.0-NDR.zip I now present for your consideration the resolution below, approving this package for submission to OASIS. If you approve this resolution, do nothing. If you object to adoption of this resolution and you are a voting member of the OASIS UBL TC, register your objection to this list no later than COB Thursday 17 September 2009. That the OASIS UBL TC approves the UBL 2.0 NDR candidate Public Review Draft currently located at http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/download.php/34152/prd2-UBL-2.0-NDR.zip as an OASIS Committee Draft. 2. That the UBL TC chairs and UBL NDR editors are authorized to make such nonsubstantive changes to the approved document as may be required for publication as an OASIS Public Review Draft. 3. That the UBL TC chairs and secretaries are authorized to submit the approved Committee Draft for OASIS public review. 4. That the UBL TC chairs and secretaries are authorized to make such further nonsubstantive changes to the approved Committee Draft as may be needed to meet the requirements of the OASIS public review process.
