I'm really fuzzy on what constitutes the membership of the "Member
Section"; George's question 2) seems to head in that direction. Is the
membership of the "member section" made up of the members of the
steering committee and the (I presume voting) members of all TC's of the
member section?

These changes look fine.   I think we can defer the discussion of
at-large
seats until we see the makeup of the member section.

A couple of proposed areas to work on:
1) To retain membership on the Steering Committee, each member or
alternate must attend at least 2/3 of the meetings, and cannot miss more
than 2
meetings in a row.   "Attendance" at meetings means attendance at 100%
of
the meeting.   Members who do not fulfill these requirements will lose
their seat, which will be filled as described in the section on filling
vacancies.   Attendance will be noted in the meeting minutes.   The
chair
will keep track of attendance records.
2) Do we have any requirements on being a member of the member section?
Will there be meetings of the entire member section?   How do we decide
who
gets to vote for the Steering Committee?
3) We should have a vice chair, who will chair meetings in the absence
of the chair.  If both chair and vice chair are absent, the chair's
alternate
will chair the meeting, then the vice chair's alternate.    The chair's
alternate does not have succession rights to be chair.   If the chair
becomes unable to continue as chair, a new chair will be elected.

Hi,

A day late and a dollar short - Here is the updated draft of the ROP
with modifications based on last Friday's discussion.

I made the following changes/additions:

33-39 Annual elections on anniversary of Oasis UDDI Transfer
 7 Members on SC
 Member Orgs can appoint alternate rep

41-42       Clarifying what they have a right to vote for.

44-46 Specifying 2 yr term and 1st year ballot ranking to force
staggered terms.

48-50 Number of SC members can be adjusted annually as required.

49    Deleted redundant annual election statement

55-57 Restatement of annual election timing.

63-65 Allowance for replacement if Member Org goes away.

Note - I didn't mention the 2/3 quorum required for a meeting - I
believe that is covered by Roberts Rules of Order.

I also didn't introduce the concept of at-large or ad-hoc seats that we
discussed, based on % of individual participation - not sure how to
apporach that, or if should delay that till a later date. Is the Member
Section comprised of JUST Organizational Members? If not, then we need
to modify the eligability - looking at lines 41-42 as a model, if only
Org Members can vote, doesn't appear that indivivual members are
intended to participate. Please offer your opinions on this.

Please give me feedback on this, and I will update and re-distribute.
