Hi Yves, I am in complete agreement that the extra attribute in the closing element is unneeded. It is quite resolvable to have matching ids within a given segment. I wonder if it would not be better to use the more traditional id, idref pairing, rather than the unconventional id to id matching? I am in agreement about your rationale that ids do not need to be unique across all segments. My question is more along the lines of using attributes in a conventional way to avoid confusion (for coders like me who do not always read the fine print). Bryan (I'll bet you were bracing yourself for my usual complaints about the bpt ept-ish architecture, or escaped XML, that I find so hard to love)
