[cgmopen-sc] Call for Nominations -- CGM Open SC
OASIS CGM Open Member Section --

 

One seat on the Steering Committee of the CGM Open (CGMO)
Member 

Section is up for election this year.  The CGMO
Member Section Steering 

Committee consists of three seats, two of which are
elected and third 

of which is allocated to the CGMO Program Director. 
The elected seats 

have two-year terms.  One of those seats is elected
each year. This 

year the seat held by Stuart Galt of Boeing is up for
election.

 

The nomination and election procedures for the CGMO
Steering Committee 

are defined collectively by two documents, the OASIS
Member Section 

Policy [1] and the CGM Open Member Section Rules of
Procedure (RoP) [2].

Any organizational member of the CGM Open Member Section
(CGMO MS) can 

nominate or be nominated as a candidate for the Steering
Committee.  

OASIS Members may join the CGM Open MS by having their
Primary 

Representative notify 
. There is no 

additional cost to join the CGM Open Member
Section.  By joining the 

CGMO Member Section, a portion of your dues is allocated
to the CGMO MS 

budget as described in [1] and [2].

 

Organizational members of the CGMO MS are qualified to
vote in CGMO 

elections, and all members of the CGM Open MS are
recognized on the 

CGMO MS web site.

 

NOMINATION & ELECTION SCHEDULE

 

Nominations are open 22-oct-2010 through 05-nov-2010
Elections will be 

held:  09-dec-2009 through 19-dec-2009

 

NOMINATION PROCESS

Any organizational member of the CGM Open Member Section
can nominate a 

candidate by email from their Primary Contact to 



 

Prior to being confirmed as a candidate, nominees must:

1. Accept the nomination

2. Confirm they are able to meet the time commitments of
the position 

3. Provide a background and position statement to help
voters know 

their qualifications.

4. Be an employee of an organizational member of the CGM
Open Member Section.

 

All nominations and subsequent correspondence should be
sent to 



 

ELECTION PROCESS

 

One Steering Committee member will be selected by vote of

organizational members of the CGM Open Member Section,
using the Single 

Transferable Voting (STV) process.

 

Eligible voters will be sent voting instructions prior to
and during 

the ballot open period.

 

Results will be announced immediately after they are
tabulated and confirmed.
