Reminder Re: OASIS CGM Open Steering Committee Election

OASIS CGM Open Member Section Members,

If you haven't already done so, please take a minute to vote on the
Steering Committee ballot.  

It's simple this year, as there are two candidates for two seats (1 yr.
and 2 yr.), and you have two votes (priority ranked).  Still, we
value your participation, and it determines who gets which seat -- please
vote.

See 4th-from-end paragraph, below, for email voting
instructions.

The election process to select 'two' CGM Open Member Section Steering
Committee Members is now open. One seat will serve a one year term due to
a vacancy, and the other seat will serve the customary two year term. The
nominee receiving the most votes will serve a two-year term on the StC
and the second nominee will serve a one year term.

 

The nomination and election procedures for the CGM Open Steering
Committee are defined collectively by two documents, the OASIS Member
Section Policy [1] and the CGM Open Member Section Rules of Procedure
(RoP) [2].

Each CGM Open Supporting Entity has one Qualified Elector who casts the
single vote on behalf of his/her organization. A CGM Open Member Section
Qualified Elector is a single Eligible Person who is an employee or
designee of an organizational Member Section Supporting Entity, and who
is a Member of that Member Section.

ELECTION SCHEDULE 

The election will be held from 23-December-2011 through 14-January-2011.

STEERING COMMITTEE NOMINEES:

The CGM Open Steering Committee Candidates are Dieter Weidenbrueck and
Stuart Galt of Boeing.

The two new Steering Committee members will be selected by the MS Qualified Electors, using the Single Transferable Voting (STV) process -- Scottish Method, http://www.stv.govt.nz/stv/how.htm .  STV considers each voter's ranked preference for candidates, in order to more accurately reflect the wishes of the electorate. Results will be announced immediately after they are tabulated and confirmed.

Cast your vote by email to  -- please specify "CGM Open StC election" in your email's "Subject". Your message should contain your ranked preference for two of the candidates. Start with 1, your first priority choice, and continue with 2, your second priority choice.
