Re: [chairs] Question regarding JIRA notifications
Dear Chet

I too find the JIRA email updates a nuisance. In JIRA you have the option to start or stop watching an issue. Would it not be possible to send the JIRA updates directly to our individual email addresses instead of to the TC mailing lists,
and only for the issues that we are watching?

Best regards,

Kenneth

Subject: [chairs] Question regarding JIRA notifications

Greetings TC chairs,

A quick request for feedback.

I have had several people over the past year object to our configuration that sends an email to the TC mailing list every time a JIRA issue is updated. "JIRA spam" as some have called it.

My justification was transparency. But I get it all so I sympathize with the complaints.

Since JIRA is publicly visible and anyone can choose to watch issues of interest, my question is this:

Would you prefer that a JIRA notice only be sent when an issue is opened or closed? Or does your TC find the updates useful?

Thanks for your input and I'll let you all know what I learn.

Best,

/chet
