    Proposal: Leave it as is. We would need to specify which lexical ordering we were using for each string encoding. As it stands implementation wold not be allowed to return a string. A note to this effect should be added to the document.  (was: Leave it as is. We would need to specify which lexical ordering we were using for each string encodings. By my reading impkementations would still be free to impplement string/MAX processing.)
