I$B!G(Bm working with a client that has a lot of content that contains chemical or equation $B!H(Bsymbols$B!I(B . Some examples are:

 

Chemical symbols:

Pb—chemical symbol for the element Lead

H2O—chemical expression for Water

6C—chemical expression for Carbon-14 isotope

 

Equation symbols:

Kb—base association constant

$B-t(B--sigma, or sum

Vt—terminal velocity

 

Among other users of DITA, particularly for pharmaceutical or other STM content, are there any standards for how this kind of content is identified? Are other teams using MathML?
