RE: [dita-help] complexity
How do we answer these responses now? What might we do to enable additional and more adequate answers? What might we recommend for the TC to do to enable additional and more adequate answers? /B From: Tony Self [mailto:] Sent: Monday, December 06, 2010 7:37 PM To: Subject: RE: [dita-help] complexity Hi Bruce and all I have provided a longer suggested answer to your question on the main DITA TC list, but looking specifically at Help authors, I think there are a few factors that lead to the perception of complexity. Here are some examples of why somebody might shy away from DITA. . I can’t just buy one tool and move to DITA. . I have to learn semantic mark-up. . It’s almost impossible to single-source a PDF without a degree in programming. . I don’t understand what “processing” is. . I looked at how to specialise, but it was all gobbledegook. . What’s wrong with RoboHelp? . I think I also need to buy a CMS. If DITA is so simple, why do I need a CMS?
