Re: [dita-lightweight-dita] Bay area grad student looking to interview a LW DITA expert
My apologies -- I thought pretty much everyone had Easter Monday as a holiday, so I didn't even think to check my work email beforehand/send regrets for today's meeting.

I recently asked on a LinkedIn forum whether anybody is using Markdown to DITA and whether they are considering LwDITA. Yes to the former, and I only know of Stan as willing to go on record that his company is *considering*
a trial of LwDITA later this year.

Cheers!

I think the issue is bigger than the student's assignment... and I made that an item for the LwDITA subcommittee agenda today.

I don't think there are any practitioners (in the Bay Area or elsewhere) working with LwDITA. Maybe Keith, Stan, and some of my undergrads are the only real LwDITA "users" that exist as of today. We are not ready for real users.

We will talk about it today in our call.

Best,

Carlos

Hi there,

This is not the same person. Is there anyone who can talk with this grad student?

Thanks, Amber

If her initials are MM, I already talked to her.

Hi there,

A grad student sent me the following query:

“I'm a Technical and Professional Writing major at San Francisco State University and I'm writing an academic white paper on Lightweight DITA.

I'm looking for an interview subject located in the Bay Area who has experience using Lightweight DITA as a technical writer, editor, or communications manager on the job. Would you happen to
know anyone who fits this description and may be interested in being interviewed?”

Any chance that someone on the committee is willing to chat with this student? If so, please contact me directly and I’ll introduce you.

Many thanks in advance for your time and have a great day, A
