Issue with MDITA syntax for table

The draft LwDITA spec contains the following content concerning the syntax for the MDITA equivalent of <simpletable>:

MDITA (core and extended profiles)
A table should contain a header row, a delimiter row, and zero or more rows with entries. Table entries inside a row should be separated by pipes (
),  and the delimiter should contain hyphens (  -  ), and optionally, a leading or trailing colon (  :  ),  or both, to indicate left, right, or center alignment respectively.
This is wrong; simple table does not support alignment in DITA, so it cannot be supported in LwDITA.
