Metadata elements

I've been trying to 
update the metadata section of the arch spec, in order to address the review 
input -- primarily comments along the lines that these topics are so weak they 
should either be redone or removed.

 

I have found a 
little architectural info here, and I am reworking that into a single topic. 
While doing so, I discovered that the following statement is 
incorrect:

 

"The metadata 
elements are implemented with the metadata domain specialization. ... The 
<metadata> element is a wrapper element that contains all 
the metadata elements." (I bolded the text that concerns me)

 

Not all of the 
elements in the metadata domain are in the <metadata> 
element.

 

The following 
elements are not available in the <metadata> element, but probably should 
be, since to me they are also metadata elements:

  

  
author

  

  
source

  

  
publisher

  

  
copyright

  

  
critdates

  

  
permissions

  

  
resourceid

Is this a bug in the 
info model, or a bug in documentation? I think it's a bug in the info model, but 
not convinced it's big enough to fix in 1.2. In any case, we would need to keep 
the existing definitions in the topic and map prologs to maintain backward 
compatibility, the way we have done for the <metadata> elements in the map 
type.

What does the TC feel 
about this issue?
