Re: DITA 1.2 Subject Schema

I have copied your request to the full mailing list of the DITA TC,
    Bradley. The Subject Schema has had limited uptake in general, but
    some have implemented it with seeming success and value, but I can't
    recall by whom. If anyone on copy can help Bradley with any
    experience at all, please chime in!

    

    I suggest also that you ask on the Yahoo Groups
      dita-users list, where many other possible users of that
    specialization may lurk. For example, it has this thread you might

I have 3 years’ experience building OWL
          knowledge Models, but the DITA subject Schema has me stumped.
          All I have seen is very flat examples on the DITA 1.2 Spec
          page. It is hard to tell how it is actually built. When I
          build my OWL ontologies in TopBraid Composer, the application
          hides most of the “guts” of the code so I do not have to
          reverse engineer it. I use XMetal 6.0 as my XML editor and I
          cannot replicate the same structures ie it wants to introduce
          a new topic reference for “hasInstance”.

        
 

        
As well, I am looking to bring DITA into an
          OWL ontology but the fragmentation of the DTDs compared to
          DITA 1.1 has made it almost impossible. I am in particular
          looking for the file that specifies all the bookmap and topic
          prolog info. From that, my goal is to build the subsumption
          and association relationships. This may be the wrong approach,
          but without more resources (eg live examples) describing how
          to manage metadata, it is hard to figure out the correct
