Classification domain elements

I use <subjectref> in subjectScheme maps where the same subject occurs in multiple parts of a taxonomy or ontology hierarchy.
Otherwise I have not used it.
I can see the utility of having specialized reltable that is specifically for the task of classification but it's not something I've needed myself or seen a need for in my clients where a DITA-specific implementation would be warranted.
In general, my clients would be most likely to use some sort of RDF-based system for this sort of link-based classification.
They might generate DITA-specific classification markup from such a system but it is unlikely they would start there.
This is in the context of Publishers who will likely have a wide variety of things to classify, only some of which will be DITA.
