DITA users want more (and better) examples

This is what the DITA Adoption TC has heard at listening
      sessions.

    
I want to poke at this. Do we have any idea what DITA users mean
      when they say "We want more and better examples"? Before we try
      and jump to a solution, I think it would be helpful to define the
      problem.

    
I think the example issue might be multi-faceted and encompass a
      very wide range of of items:

    
      
Some folks might want examples in the spec that reflect real
        world usage, not bats or puffins or garages.

      
Some folks might want more examples to cover edge cases.

      
Some folks might want more examples to illustrate what is
        handled by attributes on DITA elements.

      
Some folks might want tutorials.

      

      
Some folks might want access to more sets of sample files.
        (Not a DITA TC concern)

      

    
    
Let's also not forget that many users do not look at the spec at
      all ...
