Hi Kris and all,
We are planning to use Liberation Mono for a monospaced font. (As noted in Wikipedia, "Liberation Mono is styled closer to Liberation Sans than Monotype's Courier New, though its metrics match with Courier New.")
Taking the next step, I'm not aware of a need in our templates for a font using serifs, but there is a "Liberation Serif" if needed.
The MS-Word based Notes template I recently sent (to Kris) provides four monospaced "styles" using the Liberation Mono font.
In that template, the styles are called:
- code and code small (9 and 8 pt respectively, with a gray background box or outline
- example and example small (9 and 8, light gray background, no box)
