Curious about usage of "passthrough" in DITAVAL

Hi all, As we work through the conditional processing section, there are some questions about the passthrough token in DITAVAL properties.
It got me wondering -- is anyone actually using it?
Mostly just curious, and not (yet) proposing any changes to it.
