DOCBOOK-APPS: some questions

Hi,
I am using DocBook XSL and I have some general questions.
1.Is there any way how to remove automatically generated numbers in 
section/chapter titles and in Table of Contents? May be setting some 
attribute?
2.If I want modify or disable automatically generated Table of Contents, 
what should I do?
3.Looking into html/synop.xsl, I found code for processing method and 
methodparam elemnts (similar to function etc.), but there is nothing about 
them in DocBook. Is it something planned for future versions of DocBook or 
some "trash" from past?
