DOCBOOK-APPS: Table problem when converting to pdf

I am unable to produce correct tables when converting my sgml files to
pdf. I have a table that contains an itemized list and paragraphs among
its entries. When I build html files from it, the tables format correctly.
When I build pdf files from it, the tables run through the right margin of
the page and completely off the paper. Is there a way to correct this?

I am using DocBook 3.1 with the cygnus-both.dsl stylesheet.
