DOCBOOK-APPS: Aaargh, text with {...} causes pdfjadetex to blow up ...

Hi,

I have some text where I have the string '{<str1>,<str2> ...}' in my
DocBook document.

This is causing pdfjadetex/LaTeX to blow up because it seems to think I
have defined a Macro that it cannot find the end to ...

How can I pass the braces to pdfjadetex and have them left alone?
