OT: FO question

I've tweaked the FO stylesheets to support

  <entry><?dbfo bgcolor='red'?>...</entry>

And I notice that the background color "bleeds" into the border if there is one.
Is that correct behavior? (I won't be surprised if it is.)

Can I stop it from happening?
