no super-,sub-sctipts with fop and PS

I noticed that when I use fop to generate Postscript output, all
<superscript> and <subscript> mark-ups do not get rendered.  When
generating PDF instead from the same .fo file, they are correctly
rendered.

Is this a bug in fop or SAX2?  Is there a fix?
