Line Breaks to BR in HTML Output

Good afternoon list,

 

I know there is a lot of information about this 
topic on the Internet, but I have not yet found a way to convert the LF in 
the XML document to BR tags in the outputtted HTML with a DocBook 
customsation.

 

I create a DocBook from various data sources, which 
are primarily databases.  The text that comes back can include the LF 
characters and these are transposed to the XML document.

 

I need to keep thm in there as I am using this XML 
to output as various file formats, PDF and HTML.

 

Does anyone know of a way to add some customisation 
to the HTML XSL that will render the LF as BR tags?

 

Any help would be greatly
