Variablelist with run-in terms?

Hello,

I'd like the terms of a variablelist to run into the content of the listitems. Like so:

TERM_1 This is the content of the listitem
   maybe stretching over several
   lines.
TERM_2 This is another listitem.


Is that possible? Should I use another docbook-element to achieve this result more easily?
