Once again, should have read Bob Stayton's book first.

Utilized the profile.xsl stylesheet and the stringparm profile.condition to 
preprocess xml documents; subsequently processing with chunk.xsl.

In my case of a root document with xincludes / nested xincludes, the 
preprocessing results in a singular combined and filtered xml document which 
chunks correctly.
