Embedding font in the PDF, footnote numbering is not superscripted

After embedding Arial Unicode MS font  in the PDF, 
footnote numbering is not superscripted but shrinked.
The number looks like it has a smaller font size.
Can someone help!

For example:
In Docbook:

<ulink url="http://www.google.com">Hello</ulink>

Output in PDF:
============
Hello1<= One here is not superscripted but shrinked

Custom layer:
===========
<xsl:param name="body.font.family">ArialUnicodeMS</xsl:param>
<xsl:param name="ulink.footnotes" select="1"/>

Tools used:

xsltproc.exe
