profiling and entities

This is somewhat related to my other post. 

I'm trying to generate htmlhelp, when I do get the profiled xml file, none
of the ENTITIES are copied over. I need them as they are "variables" to the
images that are used throughout the xml file. Is there a way to preserve
these?
