Yes, that's the case. The slides parameters only apply to HTML
output. In the reference docs for the 1.70.1 release, it was sorta
more clear that they were only for HTML -

I made a change for the 1.71.0 release that made it not clear.
I'll fix it in the docs for the 1.71.1 release.
