flow object not accepted by port

hello,

I'm working on two separate DocBook XML files. Both validate as DocBook 
4.3; however, I can only convert one of the two documents to PDF using 
db2pdf.

The problem document gives me the following error:

(This is the page numbering part of the style sheet.)

I can convert the XML file to HTML...but I need PDF output for this project.
