Hi Dave,
there is also Emacs Muse (http://mwolson.org/projects/EmacsMuse.html),
an improved successor of Emacs Wiki Mode. Muse uses a wiki-like syntax
and can publish to a variety of output formats, including DocBook.
Future versions of Muse will even have bibliography support (see the
slightly outdated description at
http://refdb.sourceforge.net/muse.html).
