DocBook 5.x - the difference between mediaobject and inlinemediaobject

Hello all,

Well, what's the difference? The docs do not make it clear.

Isn't everything "inline"? That is, If I have
<a>
...
</a>
<b>
...
</b>
<c>
...
</c>

then surely a, b, and c will be displayed in that order?
