Stealing styles. v5+ snapshot. fo output

I've added a small 'poetry' extension to docbook v5.
In processing it I'd like to re-use some of the styles
already in use in the stylesheets (rather than duplicate
or invent my own).

Is there any general guidance on the property sets used
in docbook that I could learn from please?
