I don't think this is a bug in the stylesheets. I'm not able to reproduce
it.
Are you using a customization layer for your FO output (not necessarily for
glossary entries)? If so, do you have indent="yes" in its <xsl:output>
element? If so, you should always set that to "no" when switching from FO
debugging to production output. The indent="yes" introduces white spaces in
the FO output that can sometimes show up in the PDF output.
Or perhaps you have trailing white space such as a carriage return in your
source element?
