RE: [docbook-apps] footnoteref bug

Yep, that's exactly what I did. I'll log a feature request 
to have the xsls fail when you footnoteref to something other than a footnote.

I've 
  seen this (I'm running 1.72 too), but only when I'm mistakenly applying the ID 
  value to the para element within the footnote rather than the footnote itself.

When I use a 
    footnoteref element, the footnoteref is replaced by the contents of the 
    footnote rather than the footnote marker. For example, if I have 
    <footnote id="foo">This is a footnote</footnote> and somewhere 
    else <footnoteref linkend="foo"/>, the footnoteref is replaced by the 
    following in superscript: "[This is a footnote]" rather than "[a]" (or

    seen this bug? Has it been fixed since 1.72.0? Sourceforge isn't responding 
    right now, so I can't check the bug tracker or svn repository
