Add image tags to titlepage

Hi all am faced with a scenario i would want to add a logo to the header of my document. from my research i have come to realize that this is not possible in the default template. So i read about customizing the  titlepage
specification file but am stumped! :(
So how do i add it within the sequence of title elements,
regenerate the titlepage templates, and import the generated templates into  to the customization layer?
