I've a fairly reasonable Makefile I can post if people would find that useful.
It's tailored to our particular setup, so I should tidy it up a little, but it
might prove useful as a starting point.
It has some nice features such as auto-generates dependencies; although it
auto-includes them, which is a GNU extension to Makefiles. It would need a
little bit of work to get it working under Solaris using the Sun-native make.
